Rock announces Xtreme SL8 powerful graphics notebook

Rock Group Plc, the high-performance notebook specialist, has launched it most powerful graphics machine to date.
The quad-core Xtreme SL8 features a pair of Nvidia GeForce 8800M GTX graphics cards for full SLi dual-processing power. It has a 17 inch screen size with 1920 x 1200 resolution.
It is offered with either 2.93GHz Core 2 Extreme QX6800 or 2.66GHz Core 2 Quad Q6700 processors, which sit on a 1066MHz frontside bus (FSB).
With the top-end CPU and the two GPUs, Rock claims that the machine delivers a 3DMark06 score of around 15,000.
The machine has up to 4GB of DDR 2 memory and runs at 800MHz. It can be configured with up to 600GB of 7200rpm hard disk storage or 1TB of 5400rpm HDDs in RAID layout.
It also features gigabit Ethernet, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless links.
The Xtreme SL8 will be available from the middle of February, priced at between £2000 and £3500, depending on the spec.
