by David Allen

Hull City Council are the first in the UK to introduce public services for older people which can be accessed through their TV’s, this service is from the city’s Stream, which has been set up by Broadband Capital, and it can be used to deliver information and services.
Each user will be able to build up their own profile on the system which will be based on their own needs, location and how easy they can adapt to the system itself.
The system itself can be as complex or as easy they user wants, they will be able to receive emails and other messages via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, the system is set up so that messages which could include healthcare, appointments and medication alerts could be superimposed over the current TV channel. For user wanting to keep an active mind there are games too.
