More than three million Sky+ customers

There are now 3.13 million Sky+ customers, having risen by a record 16% in the last quarter of 2007. Sky HD uptake also improved in the quarter.

There were 434,000 new Sky+ customers in the period, and Sky’s churn figure has been cut to just 10%. The company has been making an effort to reduce the number of customers leaving, which has proved successful.

However, there were only 167,000 new customers to Sky during October, November and December 2007. This is the lowest figure recorded for this traditionally strong period since 2001. In the same months in 2006 it was 183,000.

Sky’s average revenue per user in the quarter reached £421, compared to £397 in the final three months of 2005.
