Digital Television Group slates Ofcom's HDTV plans
On2 Technologies Inc, a video compression specialist, has announced the Hantro 8190, a multi-format video decoder which can process up to 1080p video at 30fps.

The Hantro 8190 is designed to be incorporated into mobile chipset designs and end user devices.

It is a highly optimised hardware decoder which supports Adobe’s Flash video format plus H.263, H.264, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, VC-1, Sorenson Spark and VP6™ video formats, together with up to 16MP JPEG still images.

This makes video content created with codecs such as QuickTime, DivX and Adobe Flash video, accessible to mobile users.

The Hantro 8190 can be licensed now from On2. The company has its headquarters in New York, with offices and partners in Finland, Germany, UK, Japan, China, Taiwan, Korea and India.
