Setanta Sports up for sale<br />

This seemed to be something that was going to last forever and yet not it has been announced that the only sports channel that has realistically threatened the hold that Sky Sports has had over the best sport on available on a TV screen in the UK.

But now it would appear that the company are likely to consider any offers that come in for the business. There is speculation that there have been offers or serious considerations from BT, ITV and ESPN, whether these will end up being the next owner of the Setanta Sports network.

However the sport channel is not actually up for sale according to the owners and founders Leonard Ryan and Michael O’Rouke, they say that the company is regularly part of speculative bids and buyouts, but should a serious offer come their way they would have to give it serious thought.

Fortunately they have the investment bank Goldman Sachs as a shareholder who can advise them as to which deals are the best for the company and the shareholders.
