Mahmoud Reveals Plans of Research Rocket Launches
by Rachael Grant
Iran’s president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, speaking at a 29th anniversary of the Islamic revolution rally, has revealed that prior to the country’s first domestically built ‘research’ satellite orbit, two additional research rockets will be launched.
The news comes on the tail of the success of the first of such rockets that was launched earlier this month. Ahmadinejad has said that he hopes the satellite will be launched this coming summer.
Iran continues to develop medium and long-range missiles, many with the purported purpose of furthering peaceful purposed satellites, and some experts believe that the positive speeches by the president hides such achievements as actually having been successful.
