Norton Finance deploys converged IP network

by Jan Harris

Norton Finance, the financial services company, has invested in an IP converged network from NEC Philips Unified Solutions, in order to cut costs and support a business expansion programme and relocation.

The company is consolidating its business premises into two main sites. When staff move into the new office, they will simply have to plug in the new VoIP phones and they will immediately be active.

The new IP infrastructure, which will replace a number of different networks, will support almost 900 users. It is based on the Univerge SV7000 IP server blade platform.

Norton Finance has also implemented a distributed call centre solution from NEC Philips. This will allow staff to act as call handling agents, whatever their location.

NEC Philips Unified Solutions provides secure enterprise IT and communications solutions. The company specialises in the deployment of unified communication solutions, which often combine NEC Philips’ technologies with those from other industry vendors.
