Amazingly there could be a value in IPTV that comes from the success of the Hollywood film industry. It would appear that because of huge amounts of money spent on producing films in Hollywood they would like to see a return on their investment, this means that film goers here in the UK have little choice in what they see, and it’s the big Hollywood blockbuster or nothing at all.

This is not very good news for the UK independent film producers who find it very hard to get their films in front of a UK audience but could IPTV be the way forward for these smaller film companies?

Guerilla Films thinks so and have come up with an agreement with Tiscali to premier their latest film “January 2nd” on the telecoms IPTV service. The film will be shown on the 28th February 2008 on the Tiscali Movies Now Channel.

David Nicholas Wilkinson, Chairman, Guerilla Films Ltd, said, “It has become a David and Goliath struggle to try to put lower budget films before an audience, however, the Tiscali platform provides the ideal catapult to give January 2nd the launch it deserves.”
