According to market watchers reporting in the Chinese paper, Economic Daily News (EDN), before the end of the year, Asustek is going to be outsourcing 50% of their brand motherboards to outside OEMs.

Regardless of the recent separation of Asustek and their ODM devision Unihan Technology, EDN is still saying that the outsourcing proportion from Asustek is very high, which means the separation is yet to be fully completed.

According to EDN, Jerry Shen, the president of Asustek, has stated that the outsourcing of non-notebook products will take highest priority.
