Regulator Ofcom has issued to warning to digital TV broadcasters with regards to explicit adult content that is becoming available on free to air channels, in the warning they state that they may introduce new tougher regulations when it come to how adult content can be shown.

The body found that several channels have been breaking the rules when it comes to the free to view short ten minute introductions to Red Hot and the Fantasy Channel these run virtually every hour throughout the 10 pm to midnight time slot.

There have been many complaints sent to Ofcom regarding these free promotion clips which have featured images and language which has been deemed to be far too explicit to be aired under the free to view rules.

Ofcom have warned the channels that if they do not stick to rules they may introduce a PIN protection system for all channels that show adult content.
