Mobile broadband taking off
by David Allen

There are reports that say fixed line broadband could be going the same way as a fixed line telephone, which means that the broadband companies will need to be on their toes when it comes to service and internet connection speed.
It could even be possible that within two years mobile broadband packages will be outselling fixed line contracts. This is because of the price war, which saw the price of a mobile broadband package cut in half; some packages available from Vodafone, T Mobile, 3 and Orange are available at a staring price of around £10 per month.
But what about the connection speed? It is estimated that the Vodafone service is quite capable of delivering up to 7.2 Mb, while on a landline the maximum is generally up to 8 Mb, although there are places where the speed can exceed this.
With laptop computers being ever popular the application of a viable mobile broadband, which paid for by a monthly fee is a natural partnership as the two compliment each other.

Haha.. not going to happen. Can’t even get 3G phone signal in this area let alone 3G broadband and we don’t even have an expected date. At best you can use 3G phones in the local City.
Not to mention anyone wanting to game online with a console wouldn’t be able to use one of the mobile packages as it causes a load of problems.
