Panasonic announces Viera TH-50PZ800B and TH-42PZ800B
by Janet Harris

Panasonic is launching two new, top-of-the-range, plasma TVs the Viera TH-50PZ800B and TH-42PZ800B.
The PZ800 models are 1080p panels, with 24p support. The TH-50PZ800B is a 42-inch set, while the TH-50PZ800B measures 50 inches.
Both models feature Panasonic’s new V-Real PRO 3 technology, which optimises motion and improves fine detail. The sets support digital cinema colour and wide colour, and Panasonic claims they cover 120 per cent of the HDTV colour standard.
The PZ800 series also features 100,000-hour panel life and 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio. Power consumption has been improved, compared with earlier models and the sets have been manufactured with the environment in mind.
A Viera Link remote control is included, providing control over an entire home cinema.
