Foxconn Aims For Penultimate Position
by Rohan Parker
Motherboard makers, Foxconn Electronics, have hired several senior executives to head up their motherboard division as part of steps the company is taking to become the second largest motherboard manufacturer in the world over the next three years, according to Chinese-language Economic Daily News (EDN) who ran the story based on sources from within the company
Whilst the company is loath to attempt to displace Asustek Computer who are currently in the top spot and can ship approximately 20 million branded motherboards every year, Foxconn have set their sights on a more achievable task and are looking to out-ship the other top-dogs, Gigabyte Technology, Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS) and Micro-Star International (MSI) within the next few years.
