Islanders unaware of signal turn off<br />

The Isle of Man is well known for being a Tax Haven, so there are probably a lot of wealthy people that live there. Unfortunately Digital UK the body in charge of overseeing the switchover from analogue to digital has discovered that four out of five islanders appear to be unaware that the analogue signal is being switched off on the island next year.

The switchover will bring to the island a huge choice of TV channels compared with that they are receiving at the moment from Border TV, so long as they are equipped to receive the signal either through a set top box, digital TV or satellite system.

Most of the viewers will lose the TV signal between April 09 and June 09, although there are some who receive their analogue signal from either ITV Wales or ITV Granada which will be turned off later on in 2009.

This highlights the confusion that exists throughout the country with the staggered switchover, it would seem that most people are not going to be bothered until the last minute, when there will be a huge rush to get equipment fitted.
