Researchers speed up broadband
by David Allen

At the University of Bangor in Wales researchers are claiming that they have found a way that they can speed up a broadband connection by as much as one hundred times the normal internet speeds achieved at the moment.
What makes this claim even more interesting is the fact that this system will use the existing phone network with no upgrading necessary.
Just to get an idea of what one hundred times fasters means, the researcher explain that you would be able to download fifteen Hollywood Blockbuster films in a mere one minute, which is considerably faster than it would take under normal internet speeds.
Another important factor that will be of interest to ISP’s and consumers too, is the claim that this system is supposed to cut the price of supplying broadband to customers by what could be as much as seventy five per cent. Clearly there are going to be costs that the consumer will have to pay, as of yet there has been no mention of equipment charges etc.
