Public Service Television, should include VoD<br />

Talking at the Royal Television Society on public service television the chief executive of Ofcom Ed Richards stated that public service television should be enhanced by more on demand services. It looks as if they are laying out the future plans of this sector of television, as the big guns position themselves for the changing vision of TV in the UK.

As we have already heard Channel Four has already stepped up to the breech and set out their vision for the future of public service television. However there is a lot more to this, it’s not just TV itself online too which always puts a different complexion on things.

With the BBC in the lead role when it comes to public service television, it is not likely that any of the other broadcasters are going to get major slices of the cake. With ITV and Five also looking to see what role they will be able to play within the new order of public service television.
