London the hotspot for Wi-Fi
by David Allen

Wi-Fi is a funny thing, on the one hand it is a great way to connect to the internet while travelling around, but on the other there are many people who are saying that Wi-Fi will not get any better or more coverage than there is at the moment, which is slightly disappointing for all really.
But as ever London is bucking the trend as according to research recently compiled by the iPass Mobile Broadband Index, they have found that London is truly the hottest place in the world for Wi-Fi use. In fact there were over thirty thousand sessions used in the capital in the last half of 2007 alone, this is up by 150%.
Overall the USA came out on top as being the top Wi-Fi country, but the growth there was down to 60%, while here in the UK growth was up by 121%. It is the 3G network that is what’s behind all of this growth. Along with the speed increase from 150 Mb to 200 Mb, the hotspots can be mainly found in public places such as airports and railway stations.
