ITV get the rest of the Champions League<br />

It will be the same as usual for viewers of the Champions League for the next four years which is exactly the same as it has been for the past few years; this was the final package to complete the television coverage for this competition in a three year deal along with Sky Sports.

But ITV have not got all of this for nothing, the deal has cost them around £165 million compared with the £240 million that Sky Sports had paid for their part of the league. The new deal will start from the end of next season, so as from August 2009 the will be no change at all regarding the showing of Champions League games and final along the UEFA super cup final.

ITV will be getting all of the games that are played on Wednesday nights. This deal has definitely put ITV Sport right in the driving seat for the Champions League tournament. This means good news for the fans of English teams who have seen them fight their way through to finals, as well as the advertisers and sponsors.
