According to industry sources, Abit, the second tier motherboard manufacturer is going to sign on to only sell Nvidia GPU-based graphics cards.

Nvidia already has similar joint ventures with first tier mobo makers, Elitegroup Computer System (ECS) and Foxconn (Hon Hai Precision Industry).

Though Nvidia makes quite the profit and do have high demand for their products, other first tier graphics card manufacturers such as Evga, Zotac, XFX and Asustek Computer have already laid claim to large portions of the market, which may not leave much to those who arrive late to the game without new technology which will set their product apart from the rest.

Whilst many graphics card manufacturers have expressed the desire to work with both AMD and Nvidia, there is currently too high an economic scale for this to be feasible.
