£4,000 fine showing Sky
by David Allen

Two pub landlords have found themselves in deep trouble after they were found using a domestic Sky TV card to screen live Premier League football matches in their bars for all of their customers see. This is against the Sky regulations and has lead for the two pub managers to being prosecuted.
Patrick Gawley of the Alexandra, Wood Street, Barnet, was fined £4,000 and ordered to pay £986 in costs and a £15 victim surcharge and Rachel Ford licensee of the Hub, Wheelright Lane, Coventry, was fined £4,000 and ordered to pay £701.25 costs and a £15 victim surcharge, both were found to have shown Premier League matches in their pubs on four occasions.
This shows that the big media companies are getting serious about this sort exploitation of their services. But what could be worse for the two landlords is that fact that they also end up with a criminal record too, which could have effect on the way that they run their businesses in the future.
