BBC iPlayer on Wii from midnight
by David Allen

As from midnight tonight all Nintendo Wii users who are connected to the internet will be able to watch BBC programmes through the console.
Nintendo who recently signed the deal with the BBC will be announcing the introduction of the new service with a special message to all UK based Wii users who already have their systems already connected to the internet.
This is yet another big score for the BBC as they spread the of the iPlayer across many differing platforms, and buy using the Wii in this manner it will open up the opportunity to attract viewers from who may not normally sit down and watch television.
The iPlayer has however already caused some headaches for the ISP’s who are claiming that the BBC should be considering paying up for the extra traffic that the iPlayer has created.
