BBC to sell more advertising

BBC to sell more advertising<br />

Many people would think that the BBC does not even sell advertising space, well in the UK that maybe so. But when it comes to the BBC abroad, that is an entirely different matter altogether.

BBC Worldwide is creating a buzz in the US when is comes to selling minutes and sponsorships for BBC America, BBC World and The Documentary Channel, this would clearly look strange for someone from the UK the BBC with adverts.

As we know the programmes have to be paid in some way, and as the US does not have TV licence system, not that the BBC would get any of it if they did! Then the only way to make money is through advertising.

However not satisfied with that, the BBC are making preparations to begin selling advertising space, banners and towers on the BBC.com website, which is considered to be by many the one of the best news sources in the US.

  1. I’ve blogged about the UK TV licence as today it is a totally outdated concept. The latest news is that the UK government are thinking of using £130 million to help fund programs on stations that do sell advertising. The BBC should evolve to todays market & fund itself instead of relying on the TV tax of £142.50 I’m forced to pay. My video proof is from a Gordon Ramsay program on BBC America.
