Kangaroo to get new CEO

A former exec from the BBC is to take over the role of CEO of the joint venture codenamed Kangaroo.
Ashley Highfield the director of Future Media and Technology at the BBC will takeover the role from former Microsoft exec Erik Huggers.
Kangaroo will be a joint venture from the BBC Worldwide, ITV, and Channel Four as a catch up service which will allow people to view programming from the channels after they have gone past the current seven day window. This is standard across the board with all of the channels video on demand services.
The service has the ability to become a great success. Being a collaboration between the main TV channels in the country. So it is bound to be a great success providing that the right management and a system that works correctly.
Ashley Highfield was the man who brought us the iPlayer, so his experience in this field is second none, as the download figures for the iPlayer are approaching fifty million since December.
