3UK in deal with Fun Text

3 UK is to roll-out Fun Text’s emotional messaging service on its handsets. The service will be accessible directly from the messaging menu on a range of 3 UK’s phones.

Fun Text claims that the service combines the richness of MMS with the ease of use of SMS.

3 UK customers with N95, N73, E65 and 6120 handsets will be initially able to download the Fun Text application from the Planet 3 portal.

The application allows mobile phone users to add rich media to their text messages to convey emotional expressions.

The content available will include videos, animations and static images and will be updated to reflect the time of day, date and seasons.

3 UK is the first to deploy the handset client application, although the service has previously been available as a service on the portals of several major operators.
