UKTV to get re-brand and new shows
by David Allen

It was last year when UKTV G2 was re-branded as simply “Dave” which has been a great success, especially as it was made available to Freeview users. But now UKTV will be either re-branded or possibly replaced by a completely new channel, an announcement will be made in the summer of this year.
However despite all of the secrecy that surrounds the plans for UKTV, there is one big story that is emerging Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan have been signed to create and front a new chat show which will be shown each weekday for one hour.
The couple, who started off with ITV before the move to Channel Four, are rumoured to have signed with UKTV for a seven figure sum. But at the moment UKTV only attracts a small fraction of viewers that they are used to.
This could be a risky venture for both the couple and the channel, as it is supposed that their current viewers will switch with them. However being a digital channel not all of their fans will be able to see the new show until 2012 when all regions have switched over to digital TV.
