BenQ provides affordable 1080p projection
by Janet Harris

BenQ has expanded its range of full 1080p HD projectors with the introduction of the BenQ W20000 and W5000.
Both projectors feature BenQ’s Senseye technology, a 1080p DLP DMD chipset from TI, and HQV high-performance video processor.
As well as offering high definition cinematic experience the projectors are compatible with a wide range of devices including VCRs, HD DVD and Blu-ray DVD players.
The projectors feature a range of technologies designed to enhance viewing experience.
Dual Iris technology enhances the brightness of bright images, while making dark images even darker.
DynamicBlack technology fine-tunes the iris aperture to suit the level of light present in a given scene.
Four viewing modes are provided – Cinema, Dynamic, Standard, and Photo – and there are three memory slots.
The projectors support multiple video formats, including 480p, 576p, 720p, 1080i and 1080p.
The W20000 is priced at £2,499 including VAT, while the W5000 cost £1,399 including VAT.
