F1 Team may switch to BBC
by David Allen

It would seem that despite live coverage of Formula One being quickly taken away from ITV and given to the BBC for a price, the team that is behind the production of ITV F1, North One, are having talks with the BBC with a view to producing the programme when it moves channels in 2009.
The team, who are fresh from their BAFTA winning evening out, would be the obvious choice, after all they have all of the experience and expertise that made ITV F1 the successful programme that it is.
But could this be a mistake by the BBC, after all the show may have been a great success, but the people behind F1 may not agree, otherwise why take it away?
It’s hard for any channel to just simply pick up the baton and run with it. There is going to be a need for some real background in how the whole operation has been done by ITV.
So although they may be in talks with the BBC, it may not be for the same format that viewers have got used too on ITV.
