Sony and Samsung double LCD panel production
Samsung’s new Series 6 and Series 7 LCD HDTVs provide a ‘touch of colour’ in their design.

As part of its focus on design innovation, Samsung has blended a little red into the TV’s piano black bezels, which it poetically claims will echo the beauty of blown glass and sunsets.

Series 6 and Series 7, which are available in the US, also continue Samsung’s focus on performance, and provide a 50,000:1 contrast ratio supported by Samsung’s Auto Motion Plus 120Hz and Ultra Clear Panel technologies; integrated USB media browsing with WiseLink; and 120Hz refresh rate.

The sets feature Samsung’s InfoLink RSS service, which automatically provides headlines and news from USA Today.

Series 6 is available in a range of sizes from 19-inch, priced at $479.99, to 3,199.99 for a 52.2-inch model.

Series 7 will be available from May provides DLNA compatibility for sharing content with other DLNA products, and is expected to be priced at around $2599.99 for the 39.9-inch model, to $3,499.99 for the 52-inch model.
