TANDBERG launch integrated receiver decoder range
by Grant Draper

TANDBERG Television has launched a professional integrated receiver decoder (IRD) range which has been adapted for high volume video distribution applications and will feature reduced complexity, allowing for an easier content acquisition process for cable, satellite and telco operators.
Both products the RX8310 Distribution Receiver and the RX8320 ATSC include RF demodulator and ASI transport stream input, and basic standard features, which can be tailored for the end user.
The range is capable of providing single or multi-service descrambling, as well as multi-format MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 AVC 4:2:0 video decoding, and high definition (HD) services are down-converted and output as standard definition (SD) video.
The RX8310 Distribution Receiver, with improvements, allows operators to distribute over three times the content than a traditional satellite would allow, whereas the RX8320 ATSC Broadcast Receiver allows the transition to all-digital ATSC broadcasts, for operators, to be as simple as possible.
