O2 to begin major marketing plan

by David Allen

Since taking over Be Broadband, O2 have merely kept their broadband aspirations luke warm, until late last year when they launched their brand of broadband.

But still only to their own mobile phone customers and some PAYG customers too, however the network has grown to over 100,000 subscribers.

As the other majors in the industry look at Tiscali to expand their networks, O2 are planning a more traditional method of expanding their network.

As from today they will begin a nationwide marketing campaign, carrying the strapline “We’re better, connected”, which will cover TV and press, plus a large poster campaign too.

However the O2 broadband service is going to have a two tier price; because O2 have signed a deal with BT they can offer O2 broadband anywhere.

So for customers using a BT line the price will be £17.50 a month, while users who are lucky enough to be able to use O2’s lines, the price will be only £7.50 a month.
