Sky broadband starts the year off well
by David Allen

In less than two years Sky has become one of the fastest growing internet service providers in the country, they now have a subscriber base of over 1.4 million.
When they first entered the marketplace they had a target figure of three million customers by the year 2010. They are almost halfway to the figure already.
Sky broadband attracted 229,000 new customers in the first quarter of the year. But they are still firmly placed as the forth largest ISP in the UK behind The Carphone Warehouse who currently has around 2.7 million customers.
Apart from continuing to attract new customers to their various broadband packages, the obvious way that they could increase their customer base is to take a very close look at the forth coming sale of Tiscali.
By taking over the UK arm of the Italian based company, this would significantly increase their customer base.
