PAYG mobile broadband dongle prices cut

by David Allen

The pay as you go mobile broadband supplier 3, have made a conscious effort to attack the market by going in with some really aggressive price cuts for the hardware.

The mobile broadband dongles which were originally costing around £100 are now priced at just £50, a nice fifty per cent price cut.

However it is not just the pay as you go customers who are going to benefit from these price cuts, from the 1st May all existing customers on eighteen and twenty four month contracts will see their monthly subscriptions fall from £10 (1 Gb), £15 (3 Gb), or £25 (7 Gb) to £5, £7.50 and £12.50 respectively.

As normal with a mobile broadband contract, with any of these deals the dongle is free.

With regard to usage, 3 estimate that a subscriber on the 3 Gb package would be able to send around two thousand emails and one hundred hours surfing the net and still be within their allowance.

This is good guide for anyone who is interested in taking out a contract on one of these devices and is not sure exactly what package to go for.

Naturally as before, we await the response from the competition, T Mobile and Vodafone!

  1. I have noticed in the past that the operator ‘Three’ tend to lower there prices and others follow which is a grand idea.

What is mostly important is what QOS will the user recieve and how much will be spent on contract.

Being tied up to a 24 month contract is out of the question for me, i would be certainly gutted if i joined up prior the price changes.
