ITV creates Crime Thriller Awards

by David Allen

In an attempt to get the ITV digital TV channels out there and in front of people, ITV have come up with a clever marketing scheme which if it does actually work could boost the popularity of the ITV digital channel ITV 3.

These awards are planned for the autumn and will have a ceremony held in London to present the awards.

But most importantly would be the run up to the award winning climax, where ITV 3 would be showing a whole host of crime dramas for six weeks.

There will be special programmes made to celebrate the UK’s top crime story authors; the viewers will have a chance to vote for the best crime writer. While the channel will be showing many of the episodes from series and single dramas from such writers as Colin Dexter, Ruth Rendell, Ian Rankin and Lynda La Plante.
