Taiwan-based handset manufacturer High Tech Computer (HTC) previewed their latest top-of-the-range smartphone in London yesterday.

The HTC Touch Diamond features a 3D touch interface, a 3.2 megapixel camera, 2.8 inch display with VGA resolution and 4 G-bytes of storage.

The Opera browser combined with HSDPA technology provides broadband-speed internet access.

Specially designed mobile applications provide access to YouTube and Google Maps – keeping users entertained and in the right place when on the move.

According to HTC CEO Peter Chou, the 3D touch interface – TouchFLO 3D – makes browsing the web as easy as making calls.

HTC has already sold 3 million units of the HTC Touch, and it hopes that the Diamond will perform even better.

The HTC Touch Diamond will be released across Europe in June; US release will be in the second half of 2008.

All five of the UK’s major networks – Orange, O2, T-Mobile, Vodafone, and 3 – are expected to stock the phone.
