Broadband goes down the drain
by David Allen

For some time this method of providing super fast broadband, by feeding the cables through the sewers and drains, have been bounced around, but finally a decision has been made.
The first place to benefit from being connected to a network that is capable of obtaining speeds of up to 100 Mbps, is going to be the town of Bournemouth which is situation on the south coast.
The work will be carried out by the company who first came up with the idea, H20 Networks.
When this work has been completed it will be the fastest broadband network in the UK and will provide this service to over eighty eight thousand homes.
However this leap in technology is not going to be cheap; the final tag is expected to be coming in at around £30 million.
The work is expected to take over two years to complete, but will be done in stages, so certain areas will be up and running before others.
It is believed that many other “Fibre Cities” will follow suite.
