The Discovery Channel has restored over 100 hours of footage of NASA space missions for HDTV.
The footage will be available through NASA’s archives and will also provide core material for a new mini-series.
The restored footage includes NASA’s Mercury, Gemini and Apollo space missions, together with rocket launches and astronaut training.
The Discovery Channel’s mini-series, “When We Left Earth: The NASA Missions,” will help to celebrate NASA’s 50th anniversary.
The series, which was produced by Dangerous Films, will be shown in June and will also be available on DVD and Blu-ray.
