Lost soap to be shown online

The thing about broadband is the ability to watch video online and the TV producers have realised this, which is why we have such a rich supply of shows available online to watch.

But sometimes a small piece of television history is uncovered and in an old ATV archive in London, an old tin containing a tape has soap fans frothing at the mouth.

The discovery is a lost episode of the soap “Crossroads”. It is rare because for one, it has never been shown and in those days tape was so expensive that they used to over record the episodes after they had been shown on TV.

Crossroads was broadcast from 1965 to 2003, with a break of thirteen years in between.

But this episode was never shown, it disappeared in 1965 and although the quality may be a little suspect ITV will be putting this lost classic online for fans to watch on Friday.
