BT still the UK’s leading broadband supplier

by David Allen

After the release of fourth quarter figures from BT it is clear that they have managed to keep hold of their strong market share of the UK broadband sector.

They now have nearly four and half million subscribers for their broadband services, which represents around thirty per cent of the UK market.

BT have put their success down to the increased services that they are providing. These include their Home IT Support Service, which has grown from 23,000 customers to 41,000 over the year.

But it is BT Vision that has really begun to take off.

This has been put down to the digital switchover which is working its way around the country, but whatever the reason there are now 214,000 subscribers, this figure represents an increase of 94,000 in the last quarter alone, with an average subscriber viewing the VOD content around 29 times per month.
