BT – Yahoo security feature blocking emails

by David Allen

Most internet users welcome any additional security features brought in by their ISPs so long as it does not interfere with the normal day to day activities that the users do online everyday.

But the new anti spam feature brought in for users of BT-Yahoo services, has given them cause to complain.

The new measure requires a BT or Yahoo address to be in the “from” field otherwise it is blocked, which is what has been happening to users who have their own domain or another email account.

The problem for many users is that this security feature had been implemented without any warning, so when users tried to send an email, they were receiving error messages and were asked to validate the domain.

The security measure is only suspended for the moment, no doubt it will return at a later date.
