Cosmec Consulting and GRC statistics

Cosmec Consulting, who provide security information, have revealed the hurdles businesses face when it comes to IT security and to cooperate with the current GRC, or governance, risk and compliance.

Comsec has spoken with over 50 IT professionals, to establish that moulding both GRC and IT security is a challenge in itself.

The statistics are scary, too, with credit card fraud up 25% on 2006 figures, and not showing any signs of slowing down, IT professionals feel the government isn’t doing enough to establish a bottom line for IT professionals to work from.

As well as the above, a lot of business and professionals can’t establish exactly what GRC is, due to its complexity, and it has been suggested an easy ‘how to’ type guide should be distributed throughout those who are involved.

This will finally establish what GRC is and the rules which users must adhere to.
