Ofcom claims of rural broadband dismissed

by David Allen

When the communications regulator Ofcom released a report stating that the take up of broadband in rural areas has overtaken that of the city dwellers, there must have been quite a few internet users who live in rural areas scratching their heads.

These claims of a rural bliss have been dismissed by the Country, Land and Business Association (CLA). They say that the report offered by Ofcom has some flaws in it.

The Deputy President of the CLA has been saying that the digital divide is far from narrowing; in fact there are many areas in the UK which still cannot even get ADSL Broadband.

But that is not all, there is also the matter of speed in rural areas, this in no way matches the speeds available in urban areas.

The problem that Ofcom have got by releasing a report like that is it only concerns rural people.

The urban internet users are happy with their internet connection speeds etc, but in rural areas it is an altogether different story.
