3 Monkeys to educate Skype users

Jan Harris

Skype, which allows users to make free and low-cost calls from their computers, has appointed London agency, 3 Monkeys Communications, for a major PR campaign.

Skype worked with the agency in 2007, on the launch of the 3 Skypephone, and has now appointed 3 Monkeys for both its consumer and business accounts.

3 Monkeys will launch a major PR campaign for Skype, which will aim to educate consumers about how Skype works.

The company believes that some customers may be deterred from using Skype due to the misconception that its offering is too good to be true.

The PR campaign will go back to basic in explaining how Skype can provide free calls anywhere around the world with no strings attached.
