BT to charge for BBC content
by David Allen

For subscribers of BT Vision there may be a strange feeling hitting them when they find that they are going to have to pay for content from the BBC.
This is despite the fact that this is free content when shown on the TV and even when viewed through the BBC iPlayer on demand service.
Recently subscribers have been able to view BBC content without the need to pay through the BT V Box, but this was not supposed to have happened.
They should have been paying for the service but there was fault in the system which prevented it from charging.
BT Vision subscribers had been warned about the charging issue and that they would now have to pay to watch BBC programmes as they do already for Channel Four programmes; these too are available free of charge.
The fees that BT Vision will be charging for the BBC and other similar types of content will start at around £3 per month.
