Coin operated Wi-Fi comes to London

by David Allen

This could only be in London, a coin operated Wi-Fi network where you search for a wireless connection only to find to that you are going to have to dig deep and find the right change for the amount of time that you want to be online for.

The machine could be placed anywhere, but it is more likely to be used in public areas and all a traveller or surfer will need to do is make sure that they have the right change, once this has been fed into the machine a ticket is issued like in a car park!

This has all of the connection details on and now any wireless enabled device is ready to hit the network.

The downside of this device is the fact that it does not take credit or debit cards or notes. Although there are no prices available a user is still going to need a pocketful of change to get online.

The other point is the cut off time, if you are cut off there is the possibility of losing anything that has not finished downloading.
