BBC to create webpage for all TV episodes

by David Allen

The archives of the BBC stretch back around eighty years, clearly some of this material has never been seen by many people, but that is about to all come to an end as the BBC is planning to produce a webpage for every episode of every programme they have ever made.

This is a good idea for a couple of reasons; it will keep the archives safe as there will be a permanent reminder of what they have stored, and this online archive will also serve as a source of research for many people including students and children.

The BBC started making TV programmes in 1932, so there is plenty to search. Each webpage will have a basic layout with details on the programme and a link to where it can be viewed.
