Dallas Cowboys claim world's largest HDTV

A swish new stadium is under construction for the Dallas Cowboys football team, and taking pride of place will be the world’s largest HDTV.

The $35 million screen will measure 160′ by 70′ – 11,000 square feet – easily beating the current title holder, which measures 8,066 square feet and is installed at Tokyo Racecourse.

The screen comprises two huge monitors from Mitsubishi Electric.

As well as allowing fans to see both match, and behind the scenes action, the screen should bring in substantial revenues from advertisers.

No expense is being spared at the new stadium, the mega-monitors will be well-protected under the retractable roof which will block the rain and filter the sun while still giving fans the feeling that they are outside.

Climate control will create a pleasant environment whatever the weather is doing outside.

The Cowboys expect to start playing in the new stadium next year.
