Family battle over Narnia

by David Allen

There has been talk that eventually all the domain names will run out, which is an incentive to invest in one, especially if a name is available.

But investing in a domain for their eleven year old son has landed a Chartered Accountant from Edinburgh in hot water with the estate of author CS Lewis.

The domain in question is narnia.mobi, the mobi suffix was created in 2006 to be used on mobile networks, but for some reason the estate of CS Lewis who wrote the Chronicles of Narnia failed to register the domain.

However the lawyers of the estate are out to rectify that.

Acting for the estate, Baker & McKenzie have sent the family a 128 page legal document laying out their case.

In short they are accusing the family of cyber squatting.

Unfortunately for the law firm the family will not be bullied and will not surrender the domain as requested.
