Sky lowers the price of HD

by David Allen

As from next month Sky will be dropping the price of the Sky HD Box as a new branding campaign begins to promote the HD PVR and the Sky+ service, which we can expect to be seeing a lot of over the coming weeks and months.

The price at the moment for a Sky HD box varies from £199 to £249 as long at is purchased with a subscription for the Sky HD service.

As from the 1st July this service is going to be called Sky+ HD and from this date the price of buying a new box will be lowered to £150, which is the same price as a standard definition Sky+ box.

However in order to qualify for the new lower prices, the purchaser will need to take out a Sky+ HD subscription package which is currently £10 per month.

To buy the Sky+ HD box without a subscription will cost £399.
