ITV launches into Asia
by David Allen

The launch of a channel for the Asian market is a giant step for ITV as they try to expand into larger and more profitable regions.
This will be primarily an entertainment channel which is going to be loosely based the Granada International middle eastern channel, UKTV.
This has to be sensible move for ITV as they do have plenty of content to distribute, and to get it in front of large audience such as the Asian market is not going to do them any harm at all.
As with the UKTV channel, the ITV Asian channel will be a pay TV offering.
But unlike the older and more tired looking UKTV, the ITV Asian channel is going to have a fresh new look and plenty of fresh new content.
Most of the content would not have been seen before, making its launch a very exciting prospect indeed for ITV.
