by Janet Harris

US-based Vizio Inc has announced the XVT series of HDTVs, designed with gamers and home-entertainment enthusiasts in mind.
Although Vizio has kept the cost of the sets down, the HDTVs offer good performance and a number of features.
The 42-inch SV420XVT, and the 47-inch SV47XVT are full 1080p LCD sets with a 120Hz processing rate which eliminates motion blur, smooth motion video, four HDMI 1.3 ports, and TruSurround XT virtual surround sound.
The 50-inch VP505XVT Plasma HDTV supports full 1080p and HQV processing, and has two HDMI 1.3 ports on the rear of the set and an included HDMI cable.
The 50-inch set features a Silicon Optix REON HQV video processor and 1200 nits of brightness.
